Elder Moon - Elderberry Syrup

This has become a staple in our household when the chill starts to set in. The changes of the season from summer to fall to winter isn't a very welcomed one in our house, although necessary. When the leaves begin to turn and fall is usually when I make my first batch of Elderberry syrup, but this year I felt called to make a early batch as tension is higher and the busyness seems to be more.

I love the way how when you make this syrup it perinates the whole air making feel its magic already working in your respiratory system. The added honey of sweetness just makes it that much more sweeter for taking care of yourself and your loved ones.

This year I added chaga that grows on the northern birch trees, I got this batch from a lovely maker that harvested herself, I love when a medicine holds all the love from those who gathered and put their intention into their craft. Rich in antioxidants I felt it would be suited to help strengthen our immune systems with its anti-inflammatory properties.

The raw honey added to this batch comes from our bees, that have been busy in the herb garden, its a beauty to watch them work so hard and I'm so grateful for their never-ending work in the garden and that I get to share some of the fruits of their labor with you this year.

I'm thrilled to add some herbal support to the virtual and physical shelves of the Apothecary this year, hoping that it keeps you and your loved ones healthy and strong.

With herbal blooms and loving moonlight,

HollyÂ
